Defining the right order status: processing or completed
You can decide when trees are planted based on your order status, either at the Processing stage or once an order is marked as Completed.
Default behavior
By default, your Tree-Nation–WooCommerce integration is configured to trigger tree planting when an order reaches the Processing status.
This means:
As soon as a customer's payment is received and the order is awaiting fulfillment, Tree-Nation will plant a tree on your behalf.
What if you prefer the "Completed" status?
Some merchants may prefer to wait until an order is fully fulfilled before triggering tree planting. In this case, you can request to switch the trigger to the Completed status instead.
This is what each status means:
- Processing: This means the customer’s payment has been received. The order is now awaiting fulfillment, i.e. for you to process it. If you’re using WooCommerce to track your orders, you can click into the order and change the order status to 'completed' once you’ve dispatched the product(s).
- Completed: The order is complete. No further action is needed.
How to change your tree trigger status
If you prefer your trees to be planted only when the order is marked as Completed, we can easily change this for you.
