3. Trees feed and watering trees

Follow this step by step quick Onboarding to setup your account in minutes. Step 3: Trees feed and watering trees.

Caution: this step and next one are probably the most fun thing on our Platform but they are not the fastest individual way to plant. If you have no time to waste to make a big impact (or you just prefer a more boring and conventional approach 😉), feel free to skip to Step 5: Subscribe. We still recommend you to read this article to better understand the platform.

Step 3: Trees feed and watering trees

On the Tree-Nation platform, planting trees individually isn't the only option. You can also gift trees and, what's more, plant them together with the Tree-Nation community.

Go to the Trees Feed by clicking on the Home button. There you will browse recent and popular trees planted by other Tree-Nation members. Each tree has a message quoting the reason that triggered the owner to plant it.

You can interact with those trees in 3 ways:
- Leave a comment to congratulate the owner and encourage other members to plant for the same reason.
- Replant: find a tree that is appealing to you and plant an extra tree for the same reason. Discover this feature in details in the next Step: Replant a tree.
- Water the trees: in Tree-Nation we have replaced the usual Like button you find in social medias with a Water drop. Use it in the same way, by clicking on the drop icon to water your preferred trees. When a tree reaches 100 drops, a new tree will be planted and offered to the tree creator. This water game is free. Learn here how Water trees are funded.
  
  So, for example, if a tree pack has a quantity of 5, when reaching 100 drops, it will now obtain a 6th tree. It doesn't stop there: when it will reach 200 drops it will obtain a 7th tree. And so on.

Let's try that. Go and water your first tree.
- You will see the water drop counter will gain +1 drop.
- At any time you can see how many drops are needed to reach the next tree:
Notice you also have your own drop counter? This is the amount of water drops you have for today.
You only have a few drops a day because those drops have a great value: they plant real trees! When you run out of water drops for the day, you'll see there are ways to gain more.
Each day you will start with new drops! Your counter will reset at midnight GMT, and add drops in function of the Tree-Nation Meteo! So, remember to come back every day to water new trees and join the community in planting millions of trees together!

A serious explanation of why our platform is fun to use.
As our cautionary note above stipulates, this is where the fun begins. But why fun? Climate change is possibly the most serious issue on our planet and you would expect us to be extremely serious about it.

And we are. We started in 2006 when planting trees was not trendy and there were only a handful of projects dedicated to fight climate change. We helped shape our field, stirring so many copycat projects that are helping us in the journey to making reforestation by citizens a new norm.

But we are also realists: it’s tough to see how one action today can avert a possible catastrophe 30 or 40 years down the line. It’s equally challenging for any sponsor to stay fully committed for so long without more immediate rewards. Still, we believe there’s no conflict between having fun and doing good. In fact, when put together, magic happens!

By making our platform fun and free to use, we are building the biggest community to tackle climate change. We transform small, individual actions — like a simple click or a few words — into real, measurable impact and a user-lead inspiration for others to join in.

This is our solution: unconventional, bold, fun, and contagious—but also genuinely impactful!
