🎁 Can I let my Tree-Gift recipient choose the tree species or project?
At the moment, tree recipients cannot choose the species or project themselves when receiving a Tree-Gift. This is for two important reasons:

Tree prices vary by project and species.
Allowing recipients to choose could result in a mismatch between the sponsor’s budget and the cost of the selected tree. To maintain pricing integrity, only the person funding the trees (the sponsor) can select the project and species. -
Gifting requires advance planting setup.
Tree-Gifts are pre-linked to a specific tree and project, which is chosen during the planting process. This ensures the gift is ready to be claimed immediately — no waiting, no manual setup.
🛠️ Alternative: Let your recipient help decide before planting
If you're using the manual planting method, and want your recipient to help choose, here's how:

Share the Tree-Nation Project List with your recipient.

Ask them to pick their preferred project or even a specific species within a project.

You can then manually plant a tree matching their choice and gift it using the Offer Trees feature.
This approach lets you respect their preferences while maintaining full control over the budget and planting action.
