How can I make sure my trees are planted

We understand how important it is to know your trees are truly planted. At Tree-Nation, transparency and trust are at the core of every project we support.

Here’s how we ensure every tree you fund is planted and verified.

1. Every project is validated before planting starts

Before a project appears on Tree-Nation, it goes through a validation process to ensure that:

  1. The project has clear planting goals and a measurable impact.

  2. It is managed by a verified reforestation partner with proven field experience.

  3. The location, species, and planting plan are viable and ecologically sound.

Only after meeting these requirements does a project become visible on the Tree-Nation platform.

2. Your contribution is linked to verified planting sites through the project

When you (or your company) fund trees in a project, your contribution joins the collective pool of sponsored trees for that project.

Each project manages one or several verified planting sites, where the total number of trees planted is reconciled with the total number of trees purchased by sponsors.

This ensures that, while your individual trees are not tied to a specific GPS point, every sponsored tree is always backed by an equivalent number of real trees planted within the project’s verified sites.

Through this system, Tree-Nation guarantees full traceability and balance between sponsored trees and actual field planting.

3. Each tree has a digital identity in our Tree Ledger

Behind every forest, there’s a powerful database: the Tree Ledger.

This is Tree-Nation’s proprietary system that acts as a digital registry for all trees planted through our platform.

It ensures transparency and prevents double-counting by assigning each tree a unique record linked to:

  1. Its projectplanting site, and species

  2. The sponsor or donor who funded it

  3. The planting event and corresponding verification data

The Tree Ledger continuously reconciles all planting records, certificates, and reports from our partners to guarantee that each tree is counted only once and accurately reflects what’s been planted on the ground.

Think of it as a blockchain-style accounting system for trees — a secure, evolving digital backbone of trust.

4. Field planting and reporting

Our partners handle the planting process on the ground — from nursery preparation to soil restoration and post-planting care.

They regularly provide:

  1. Photos and videos of planting events

  2. GPS coordinates and mapped planting areas

  3. Periodic progress reports

These updates appear in the Project’s Updates section and are linked to your forest page whenever available.

5. Ongoing verification and monitoring

To maintain long-term credibility, we combine on-site auditspartner evaluations, and remote monitoring:

  1. Our team or local auditors visit planting sites to confirm planting activities and assess conditions.

  2. Satellite data (through Tree-Nation Lens) provides independent, long-term verification of land use and forest cover. (Coming soon)

  3. Partners must meet strict criteria for transparency, reporting, and community involvement.

This multi-layered oversight ensures that trees are not only planted but also protected and growing over time.

6. What you can see as a sponsor

As a Tree-Nation user, you can verify your trees in several ways:

  1. Visit the project page to view its details, photos, and updates.

  2. Check your forest page, which shows your tree details, their planting sites, impact page, and project updates.

  3. Look for planting certificates linked to each order — these summarize where and when your trees are being planted.

Each of these elements provides a verifiable link between your action and the project’s activity.

7. Our transparency commitment

Tree-Nation’s mission is to make reforestation measurable and accountable.

That’s why we:

  1. Disclose all project partners and methodologies publicly.

  2. Share updates as soon as they are verified.

  3. Continuously improve how we monitor reforestation through technology and field collaboration.

You don’t need to “make sure” your trees are planted — we make sure of it, for you and with you.
